The Children’s Law Bureau provides legal representation to children in Family Court matters. Our clients range in age from birth to Twenty-One years. We provide representation to children who have been the victims of parental abuse or neglect, children who are the subjects of guardianship proceedings or custody and visitation disputes, and children who are accused of being Persons in Need of Supervision or Juvenile Delinquents. Our representation continues throughout all stages of the proceedings including the appeal process.
In addition to our attorneys, the Children’s Law Bureau employs a staff of licensed Social Workers to assist in assessing the particular needs of our clients.
With our very young clients we work to ensure outcomes that serve the client’s best interests. As clients become older and more mature, our focus becomes more client directed while always being mindful of safety issues. We attempt to explain the legal proceedings to each child in an understandable manner consistent with the client’s age, maturity and emotional state. We not only provide our clients with legal advice, but also encourage them to make positive decisions.
The Children’s Law Bureau is dedicated to helping the children who find themselves in the Family Court system by providing the best legal representation possible and ensuring their voices are heard by those who make decisions which will have a profound impact on their lives.
